Pintard said, “one of my wishes is for greater assistance for the vendors at Port Lucaya as well as the Marketplace but certainly in this case Port Lucaya.”

In response Cooper pointed out the impact of tourist arrival numbers on the island saying, “the numbers are up significantly in Grand Bahama. Air arrivals are the highest growing in the country. We’ve made significant efforts to have persons arriving at the beach and Grand Lucayan dropped off at the Lucayan Marketplace.”

The Minister went further stating, “we’ve opened the Prop Club, all of this to support vendors at the Port Lucayan Marketplace.”

Coopers says that the government in ensure that everyone is prospering as a result of the growth being seen in the tourism sector.
