GRAND BAHAMA, The Bahamas — The Government of the Bahamas’  implementation of ‘minimum reliance on renewable energy of 30 percent by 2030’ and plans for achieving the goal was discussed during a press conference on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at the Ministry for Grand Bahama.  Similar meetings were held in Nassau, August 22 and 23.   Programme Coordinator Marco Rolle, fourth left, informed about the Bahamas National Energy Policy and the government’s goals for renewable energy implementation.  The government has engaged the Caribbean Centre for Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE) to produce an Integrated Resource and Resilience Plan (IRRP).   CCREEE is closely linked to CARICOM and CARICOM’s Energy Policy.  Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for Grand Bahama Melvin Seymour is pictured, left.  Collin Cover, Engineer of CCREEE is at the microphone, and next to him, Dr. Gary Jackson, Executive Director of CCREEE.      (BIS Photos/Andrew Miller)
