A man was shot and killed on West Bay Street in the area of St. Alban’s Drive on Monday.

Preliminary reports indicated that around 1:00 p.m. on Monday 10th April 2023, the victim was returning from a fishing trip along with another male at the rear of a business establishment located on West Bay Street. It was during this time, when they were approached by a lone gunman who subsequently shot the victim multiple times about the body.

The suspect returned to his vehicle, a dark-colored SUV making good his escape.
Emergency Medical Technicians were summoned to the scene and confirmed no vital signs of life.

Police on the scene provided details to members of the media. Officer In Charge of the Criminals Investigations Department, Chief Superintendent Michael Johnson said, “two fishermen pulled at this dock just in the area of Sand Trap. As they were coming off of the boat a gunman emerged from a nearby area and opened fire on one of the victims fatally wounding him.”

Police are aggressively searching for a Rasta-type male, the driver of a dark-colored SUV vehicle believed to be responsible for a brazen daylight shooting that has resulted in the death of a male in his early forties.

Johnson further explained, “he ran from this area and got into a what we believe is a small jeep and left this area making good his escape.”

Johnson also appealed to anyone with information to contact the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991 or the crime tipsters hotline.
