Royal Caribbean International will likely exceed the 2.5 million passengers it has promised to bring to The Bahamas by 2027, RCI Chief Product Innovation Officer Jay Schneider said yesterday, adding that New Providence will need to increase its excursions and attractions to prepare for that increase.

Speaking to the media following the groundbreaking for RCI’s Royal Beach Club on Paradise Island, Schneider said the project will be important for the cruise line as it offers guests something to do while in the port. However, he said given the limited capacity of the beach club, there is an opportunity to create experiences and excursions for the other two million RCI guests who won’t be able to visit the beach club.
