NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The President of the Eleuthera Chamber of Commerce called yesterday for immediate action to resolve ongoing water issues affecting South and Central Eleuthera with sustainable solutions.

“We urgently need viable and sustainable solutions. This situation cannot be allowed to continue,” said Thomas Sands, President of the Eleuthera Chamber of Commerce, told Eyewitness News regarding recent water shortages impacting residents in South and Central Eleuthera.

The situation prompted a stern response from the government over the weekend towards Aqua Design Bahamas Ltd, the company responsible for the critical service. Central and South Eleuthera MP Clay Sweeting and State Minister Leon Lundy, expressed disappointment and frustration in a joint statement on Saturday over the reduced water supply.
