Contract signed for infrastructure in Golden Athletes Subdivision

NASSAU, The Bahamas – The Bahamas Government has signed a contract worth $1,277,953.19 with Stubbs Heavy Equipment & Construction Limited to provide infrastructure in Golden Athletes Subdivision.

The signing ceremony was held at the Ministry of Works and Utilities Wednesday, March 2, 2022 and allows the Government to proceed with the installation of roads and utilities to complete the subdivision located on a 5.32-acre tract of land (subdivided into 10 lots) in Tropical Gardens, off West Bay Street.

Work is expected to be completed in 270 days and includes site investigation and surveying, design of utility infrastructure and civil works, site clearance, earthworks, installation of utilities, asphalt paving and striping, proper drainage, sidewalks and landscaping among others.

Among those present for the event were the Hon. Alfred Sears, Minister of Works and Utilities; the Hon. Mario Bowleg, Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture; Bacchus Rolle, Parliamentary Secretary; Luther Smith and Eugene Poitier, Permanent Secretaries; engineers, Olympians, representatives of Water and Sewerage Corporation and Charles Stubbs, contractor.
