South Beach Pools Re-Opens

Nassau, The Bahamas - Minster of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Lanisha Rolle re-opened the refurbished South Beach Swimming Pools Complex at an Official Ceremony, on November 25, 2019. Minister of Education and Member of Parliament the South Beach Constituency the Hon. Jeff Lloyd joined her in bringing remarks and unveiling a commemorative plaque. Among those present included Senators the Hon. Jennifer Dotson and Jamal Moss; the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, David Cates; Under Secretaries Montez Williams and Renee Bullard (Acting); Executive Director of Culture Rowena Poitier Sutherland; Director of Sports Timothy Munnings; Head of the Youth Division Sandena Neely; other Ministry staff; Principal Officer, Office of the Commander of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Captain Philip Clarke; and swimming organization representatives, and stakeholders. Also during the ceremony there were musical selections from students from Cleveland Eneas Primary, Anatol Rodgers High and soloists from the R. M. Bailey High Schools; the Royal Bahamas Police Force Pop Band; and pool demonstrations by the Queen's College Water Polo Team and Bahamas Aquatics (facilitated by CARIFTA and CCAN 2018 and 2019 Team Manager Georgette Albury).
