EXUMA, Bahamas| The Royal Bahamas Defence Force confirmed it recently apprehended a Haitian sloop west of Compass Cay in the Central Exuma chain around 12:45 on Saturday. Without saying the number of persons RBDF sources confirmed the number is more than 200 undetermined migrants were onboard.

Due to political unrest and violence in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, the Government of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas has temporarily ceased all deportations to that country. The decision follows the temporary closure of The Bahamas Embassy in Port-au-Prince and the recall of all diplomatic and consular staff.

In less that two and a half hours following BP’s Powerful Global Alert System was issued on missing cild Shavard Bain Jr he has been found.

Police tell us that just shortly after 7am today (Sunday), young Shavard Bain jr. was dropped off at a wash house on Joe Farrington and Fox Hill Roads.

NASSAU, The Bahamas – Minister of Social Services and Urban Development, the Hon. Frankie A. Campbell said Thursday (February 14, 2019) that ministry officials are in the process of reviewing and “putting into place” laws that will protect the country’s Senior Citizens.








“You are entitled to be treated with respect and decency,” Minister Campbell said to a rousing round of applause from the seniors – the vast majority of whom were “decked out” in their red and white.

A news report on a television programme called, ”Beyond the Headlines,” hosted by Clint Watson, has been brought to my attention. In my private Law practice, sometime towards the end of 2016, I was instructed by a relative of the Late Derrick Rolle to make inquiries on her behalf as to the existence or whereabouts of his alleged inheritance money to a leading Commercial Bank in The Bahamas.

NASSAU, The Bahamas – The Ministry of Education signed a $3.3 million contract with Walker’s Industries Ltd., February 13, 2019.  The signing of the contract is part of its ‘One Network’ project and marks the final of four contracts to execute the full digitization of the public school system. The Ministry previously signed contracts with BTC, Cable Bahamas and Sam’s Business Machines.
