On Friday, August 18, ALIV officially held its grand opening for its newest store in Bimini. On hand for the official ribbon cutting was Island Administrator, Oscar Munroe, Chief ALIV Officer Damian Blackburn, Chief ALIV Champion, Johnny Ingle among other local council members and members of the public. Pastor Colin Saunders did the opening prayer followed by Mr. Blackburn who gave brief remarks.

Minnis met with officials of the Bahamas Girl Guides Association (BGGA) Thursday (August 17, 2017) during a visit at the BGGA’s Headquarters, located Marcus Bethel Way and West Bay Street. The BGGA is a non-profit, voluntary organization for girls and young women.

Nassau, Bahamas - A police officer escorted Ministry of Finance employee, James Johnson, to a magistrate’s court Friday where he was charged with 11 counts of falsification of accounts, 10 counts of stealing by reason of employment and one count of attempted stealing by reason of employment.


Johnson, 27, is accused of stealing $445,966.42 from the Ministry of Finance between December 2016 and April 2017.
