Students Praised and Encouraged at 2018 Bahamas High School Diploma Commencement Exercises

Nassau, The Bahamas – Accomplishments of hundreds of high school students were celebrated as they received their diplomas at the Bahamas High School Diploma Commencement ceremonies on Thursday evening, June 14, and Friday morning, June 15, 2018 at the Kendal G. L. Isaacs Gymnasium.

The Ministry of Education hosted the annual commencement event, with Northern District and Southern District New Providence secondary school graduation ceremonies taking place on consecutive days.

To the theme, “Exceeding Limitations … Pursuing a Better Tomorrow," Education Minister the Hon. Jeffrey Lloyd during Friday's proceedings encouraged students to exercise humility, be grateful and strive to do their best.  “Always be humble,” he said. “Life is not about you. You are about life.

“I am not a drop in the ocean. I am the ocean in a drop. If it is to be, it must be up to me,” said Minister Lloyd.

He urged the students to use their gifts to serve, empower and upgrade others, and he presented awards to outstanding scholars.
