SUSPECTS TO BE ARRAIGNED IN COURT

Police are pleased to report that fourteen (14) suspects will appear in the Magistrate Court on  22nd May, 2018, at 2:00pm to be formally charged with various offences.

They are:
31 year old male to be formally charged with Unlawful Sexual Intercourse and Indecent Assault, in connection with the investigations into the sexual assaults of two juvenile females.

22 year old male to be formally charged with Rape.

31 year old male to be formally charged with Rape.

38 year old male to be formally charged with Abduction of unmarried person.

21, 23, 34 year old males to be formally charged with Fraud and stealing by reason of employment, in separate investigations.

Two 24 year old males to be charged with Armed Robbery.
28 year old female to be formally charged with Armed Robbery.
38 year old male and a juvenile male to be charged with causing harm, in two separate investigation. 26 year old male to be formally charged with Possession of unlicensed firearm.
34 year old male to be charged with Assault with a deadly weapon.

ILLEGAL FIREARMS AND DANGEROUS DRUGS RECOVERED, 1 PERSON IN CUSTODY

The enduring and dedicated work of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force has led to one illegal firearm and a quantity of dangerous drugs being recovered from the streets of New Providence.

Shortly before 2:00am, Monday, 22nd May, 2018, Flying Squad officers conducted a search of a home on Joe Farrington Road and recovered a .380 pistol and a quantity of suspected marijuana.

An adult male, was taken into custody and is expected to be formally charge before the Magistrate Court later this week.

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING ARMED ROBBERY

Police are asking members of the public, to come forth with any information they may have in solving two armed robberies, which occurred Tuesday, 22nd May, 2018.

In the first incident, according to reports, shortly after 12:00 midnight, a man was standing outside his home on Malaysia Way, Elizabeth Estate, when he was approached by a male armed with a firearm who robbed him of cash, before getting into a gray vehicle registration # SD-4298, with another man and speeding away.

In the second incident, shortly after 1:00am, a man was standing in front of his home on Baillou Hill Road South, when he was approached by two men armed with firearms, who robbed him of cash before getting into a gray Honda Accord and speeding off.

Investigations into these matter are ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT

Police are investigating a shooting incident overnight, which has left an adult male with serious injuries.

According to reports, shortly after 11:00pm, Monday, 21st May, 2018, a man was standing on the park at Bougainvillea Boulevard, South Beach, when he was approached by three men armed with firearms, who shot him before running off. The victim was transported to hospital and is listed in serious condition.

Investigations are ongoing.
